On 22 March 2018 – during the network event for World Water Day – NICC started recruiting ‘experts’ for the NICC knowledge bank.
In this way, NICC wants to deepen and broaden the content of the collection and make it even more unique.
During the event, interviews were held with, among others, Emilie Sturm and Hein Pieper of the Unie van Waterschappen about the recently signed Blue Deal. This is a long-term cooperation initiative between the Dutch water boards and the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Infrastructure and Water Management. This programme builds on a decades-long tradition of Dutch international cooperation in the field of water. Examples can be found in the NICC archives.
The current deal runs until 2030 and aims to provide 20 million people in 40 river basins worldwide with clean, sufficient and safe water. The specific focus is on providing assistance, creating business opportunities and learning from other countries. In this way, Dutch water managers can continue to improve their work, both in the Netherlands and elsewhere.
