Timelines: Gender

From the 1960s/1970s, ‘women in development’ became a theme within international cooperation. The Dutch government therefore started setting up projects specifically for women. Today, the terminology surrounding the subject has changed a lot, adapting to new insights from theory and practice. For example, the Dutch government now has a ‘gender mainstreaming’ policy. In these timelines you will find more information about Dutch international cooperation on the theme of ‘gender’.

The focus of the timelines is to give those involved a voice and to place archive items in context. The beginning is here. The challenge: highlighting different sides. Additions are very welcome.
