Collection Background

The collection of the NICC Foundation consists of material made available by, among others, the following parties.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs
At the transition to the New Way of Working in 2017, the DGIS management asked the theme experts and policy officers to keep relevant material from their workrooms. This included books, brochures, posters, postcards, photographs, infographics, DVDs, CDs, geographical maps, objects, objects and the like. The collected material forms the basis of the collection of the NICC Foundation.

Max Havelaar
The Max Havelaar Foundation added a number of early fair trade posters to the NICC collection when moving from Amsterdam to Utrecht.

At the end of 2017, the Foundation National Commission for International Cooperation and Sustainable Development (NCDO) closed the doors. Her library and part of the archive are a welcome addition to the NICC collection.

Private collections
Individual employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and (former) employees of the Dutch Development Organization SNV also made material available from their private property.

SNV Dutch Development Organization
SNV donated panels manufactured for the celebration of its 50th anniversary.
